Several words or phrases in the English language have significant potential impact—words like sorry, trust, thank-you, and why. When we take the time to figure out why, it brings clarity, it eliminates assumptions, it builds relationship and creates engagement. It is a very powerful word when we slow down long enough to use it, which brings us to this commitment: Every day, I will seek to achieve extraordinary results by focusing on our whys. That seems like such an interesting and simple concept—and it is—to write down or to say—but, for some reason, it is always a difficult concept on which to follow through.
